Currently the water temperatures here in the near coastal waters and river areas of the 10000 Islands of the Everglades National Park are higher than average at 74-76 degrees. We have been catching some nice sized Speckled Sea Trout on both the outside Gulf flats and in the back country rivers. Sheepshead have been arriving in big numbers as they do each winter and we have been catching them in the deeper pockets in the river mouths on live shrimp. The Redfish bite slowed a bit, but we have been getting some in the 18" - 24" range on the incoming tides using shrimp under popping corks. Other common catches this week have been Spanish Mackerel, Bonnethead Sharks, Jack Crevelle, Ladyfish, Mangrove Snapper, Tripletail, and more. Isn't it time you got out and experienced some of the best fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park out of Everglades City & Chokoloskee Florida?
