Here's what we fish for.....

SnapperMangrove snapper make excellent candidates for good eats! Snapper will readily eat a shrimp as a bait, are a lot of fun to catch, and provide tasty sweet fillets. They are a great target fish here in the Everglades and Chokoloskee for children and those who want to keep busy reeling in fish on almost every cast, and for everyone on those super windy days that keep you pressed up against the mangroves for shelter while fishing.
pete_trip_1_72 Tripletail are considered by most as the best eating fish in the Gulf of Mexico. Here in Chokoloskee and the Everglades City areas of southwest Florida, we find them hanging out on the water surface floating on their side, usually near a marker, crab trap buoy, or some other object floating on the surface of the water. Late winter is a good time to target these guys on our charters while fishing the Ten Thousand Islands of the Everglades National Park, FL.
Pete_and_Trout_72Speckled Sea Trout are one of our premiere targets here in the shallow grass flats of the Everglades National Park. Not only are they fantastic table fare, but they make an awesome topwater fighter!  When we hook them on light spinning tackle on our fishing charters here in Chokoloskee and Everglades CIty, they almost always immediately identify themselves as they come up thrashing and shaking their head on the surface of the water.
DavidPomp Pompano are actually one of my favorite fish to eat that we catch here out of Chokoloskee and Everglades City areas of the Everglades National Park. We enjoy fishing for them on my charters when the Pompano are around in the winter season.  Read More
shark11 Shark are here in the Everglades National Park year round, but always peak in the hot summer months. We exclusively use light tackle spin gear on our fishing charters for shark. It is a blast hooking up with these toothy monsters in the shallow Gulf areas of Everglades City, Chokoloskee and the Everglades National Park. We typically catch Bull, Nurse, Spinner, Bonnethead, Hammerhead, Black tip, Lemon, & Sharpnose Sharks.

DavidRed Redfish are another prime target for us while fishing the  flats of Chokoloskee, Everglades City, and the Everglades National Park using light spin tackle. What a thrill it is to get into a school of feeding Reds using all kinds of bait, including live, natural, and artificials. We catch them on our charters anywhere from the rivers to the island oyster bars here in the Ten Thousand Islands.
DavidSnook2 Snook are Captain Rapps' favorite fish to catch here in the 10000 islands. They are highly elusive and seem to be the #1 frustration of most casual anglers. The prestige of catching a large Snook, in my mind, matches that of landing a large Tarpon. On our charters, we target them all year long in Chokoloskee and the Everglades city ares of the Everglades National Park, typically in the thick mangrove lined creeks and bays most of the year, and the shallow outside shorelines in the summer.
EdA3 Tarpon are the most sought after and extreme sport fish in the shallow waters of the Gulf and Atlantic.  I guide Tarpon Specific charters during the months of April, May,  & June  at the Bahia Honda State Park Bridge area of Big Pine Key, FL. These acrobatic sport fish average 80 - 150 lbs where we fish for them in the Florida Keys, just southwest of Marathon and north east of Key West.  We leave from the Bahia Honda State Park and start fishing for Giant Tarpon within 10 minutes.
